About MPH Online

MPH Online is an open-city driving game by Skullcap Studios, the team behind Blockpost, and it was released on Poki in March 2024. Instead of a fixed track you get a shared city map with other drivers in it. You cruise the streets, hunt for cash lying around the map, spend it on better cars and drop into races and other activities whenever you feel like it.

When you start, the game asks for a player name, which can be shown above your car. It then connects you to a server and prepares the map before dropping you in.

Controls

• W accelerates.
• S brakes and reverses.
• A and D steer left and right.
• R respawns the car, which is the fix when you land on your roof.

The game also plays on phones and tablets; the touch layout includes an on-screen joystick for steering.

What you can do in the city

Collect money

Cash pickups are spread across the streets. Some sit in plain sight, but others are tucked into awkward spots that take some searching and careful driving to reach. Money is what pays for everything else.

Buy, rent and tune cars

The Car Menu is where you spend it. You can buy cars outright, and the game also has a rental option for vehicles you have not bought yet. A tuning menu lets you fit a nitro accelerator and repaint your car in base or premium colours. A nitro bar on the HUD shows how much boost you have.

Races and activities

Event markers are placed around the map. Drive into one to join, then follow the checkpoints to the finish. Placing in the top three earns a "You are the first", "second" or "third" message; otherwise you see "try again next time". There is also a delivery activity with pickup and drop-off points, and a chat window so you can talk to other drivers on the server.

Options worth knowing

The settings menu lets you switch the speedometer between analog and digital, show speed in km/h or mph, hide or show car nicknames, set car and effects volume separately and adjust input sensitivity. Your cars and money are saved in the browser, so clearing site data resets them.

Tips

• Use R after a crash that leaves you upside down to get back on your wheels.
• Explore off the main roads while collecting, because part of the cash is hidden away from the obvious routes.
• Turn off car nicknames in the options if the labels clutter your view during a busy race.
