Burnout Drift Hilltop, also titled Burnout Drift 2: Hilltop, is a 3D drifting game whose developer is Burga Ozdoganlar of Bonecracker Games; it came out in July 2017 as the sequel to Burnout Drift. The aim is to slide your car sideways through hairpins and long sweeping bends for as long as you can and rack up the biggest score.
Scoring
Each successful drift scores points, and a longer drift scores more. While you hold a slide a multiplier climbs, so linking one bend into the next is worth far more than separate short drifts. Touch the edge of the road, though, and the multiplier is reset. Coins earned during a run are spent afterwards on upgrades and on new, more powerful cars.
Tracks and tuning
You can practise on three tracks, each with its own road layout and weather conditions. Before driving, the garage lets you adjust the car's suspension and body angle to suit your style, and change its paint job and alloy wheels.
Controls
| Action | Keys |
|---|---|
| Gas / brake | W and S, or up and down arrows |
| Steer | A and D, or left and right arrows |
| Handbrake | Space bar |
| NOS | F |
| Slow motion | Hold G |
| Engine on / off | I |
| Gear up / down | Left shift / left ctrl |
The game is made for a keyboard, so it is best played on a computer in a web browser. CrazyGames lists it as a driving game with the tags 3D, car, drifting and speed. Because the engine can be switched off with I, check that it is running if the car will not move, and remember that the gears can be changed by hand with left shift and left ctrl.
Tips
- Keep the drift going between corners if you can; the multiplier is where the big scores come from.
- Stay off the barriers above all else, since a single touch throws away the built-up multiplier.
- Try different suspension and body angle settings in the garage to find the setup that suits your driving.
