What Digging Master is

Digging Master is a museum-building simulation from NoPowerup, the studio behind idle titles such as Idle Digging Tycoon and Idle Lumber Inc. It came out on Poki in June 2024. You play an archaeologist working a dig site: you excavate the ground to uncover fossil bones, piece the skeletons back together, and put them on show in your own museum. Visitors pay for tickets, and that money goes back into faster digging and a bigger museum.

How to play

• Move your digger with W, A, S and D or the arrow keys.
• You can also hold the mouse button and drag in the direction you want to go.
• On a phone or tablet, drag with your finger to move.

Dig through the soil to expose fossil pieces, then complete each skeleton so it can go on display.

Fossils to find

The best-known finds are the dinosaurs: Triceratops, Tyrannosaurus rex and Stegosaurus. The game's files list a much wider collection beyond those three, including:

• Other dinosaurs such as Spinosaurus, Brachiosaurus, Ankylosaurus and Parasaurolophus
• Flying reptiles and early birds, including Pteranodon and Archaeopteryx
• The marine reptile Shonisaurus
• Ice Age mammals such as the mammoth (Mammuthus), the woolly rhino Coelodonta, the sabre-toothed cat Smilodon, the giant ground sloth Megatherium, the armoured Glyptodon and the short-faced bear Arctodus

Specimens are sorted into groups like Theropoda, Sauropodomorpha, Ornithopoda, Pterosauria and Mammalia.

Growing the museum

Ticket sales are your income. You spend it on equipment upgrades that make you dig faster and turn up rarer finds, and on drawing more visitors through the doors. You can also hire workers to dig alongside you. The game pays out offline earnings, so the museum keeps making money while you are away.

Tips

• Upgrade your digging equipment early; faster digging means more fossils per trip and a fuller museum sooner.
• Hire workers when you can afford them; extra hands at the dig site speed up the search.
• Put new skeletons on display quickly. Exhibits are what bring in visitors, and visitors are what pay for everything else.
• Come back after a break to collect your offline earnings and spend them on the next upgrade.
