Stickman Hook — Play Free Online

Stickman Hook is a swinging skill game from Madbox, first released in 2018. Besides the browser version there is a mobile app for iOS and Android. You guide a stickman through each level by latching a rope on to hooks, swinging, and letting go at the right moment so the stickman carries his speed into the next swing and eventually to the finish.

Controls

There is only one input. On desktop, hold the mouse button or the spacebar to attach the rope to the nearest hook and release it to let go. On a phone or tablet, touch the screen to attach and lift your finger to release. Bouncing pads, the springy platforms scattered through levels, throw you up or forward when you touch them and can be used to reposition for the next hook.

Game modes

• Classic: hundreds of levels built around swing timing and carrying momentum from one hook to the next.
• Grapple Hook: unlocks once you have finished 30 Classic levels. Grabbing a hook yanks you forward straight away instead of letting you build up a long swing, so there is less time to recover from a mistake.

Skins

You can dress the stickman in 23 skins. They are purely cosmetic. Nine are classic skins, eight of which unlock through level progress; a bar after each level shows how near you are to the next. Another 14, including Burger, Cactus, Dragon, Lemon and Robot, unlock by watching a short video. Weekly skins also appear on the home screen and change each week.

Tips

• Let go a little before the top of the arc. Releasing at the very peak sends you upward instead of forward.
• After a strong swing, release promptly; staying on the rope too long kills your speed or lifts you too high.
• You do not have to grab every hook. If you already have speed, skipping one can be the cleaner line.
• On levels with bouncing pads, bounce back and forth while hooked to build speed, then release to clear the gap.

Most attempts are over in seconds, so a failed run costs little: restart, adjust your release timing, and try again.
