Ludo Hero — Play Free Online
More Board & Cards games
Ludo Hero is a browser version of Ludo, the race-around-the-board dice game, drawn as a flat board with red, green, yellow and blue corners. It first appeared in June 2019, plays in portrait orientation and works with a mouse or a touchscreen. The build runs on the MarketJS HTML5 framework; no studio name is shown in the game files we checked.
How to play
Everything is done by clicking or tapping. You roll the die, then pick which of your pieces moves. A piece stays in its home yard until you roll a six, and then it can step onto the track. From there each roll moves a piece forward around the board, and after a full lap it turns into its own colored lane toward the middle. The first player to bring all four pieces into the center wins.
Landing exactly on an opponent's piece knocks it back to its yard, so it has to wait for another six. Squares marked with a star are safe: a piece standing on one cannot be captured. If you would rather not make each move yourself, tap your own avatar to switch auto-mode on, and tap it again to take control back.
Modes and options
- Against the computer: the bot button starts a game with computer opponents.
- Two or four players: the menu has separate buttons for a two-player and a four-player table.
- Online: the online button looks for other players and shows a waiting screen until a table fills. Online games include a chat button, a reconnect option, and a rule that removes players who stay inactive.
- Avatars: the game ships with seventy-two avatar pictures to represent you on the board, and you can set a name.
Tips
- Get more than one piece out when you can. With several pieces on the track, a bad roll for one can still be a useful move for another.
- Use star squares as resting points when an opponent is a few spaces behind you.
- Before moving, count the spaces between your pieces and the opponents ahead. A roll that lands on them sends them home and costs them a six to return.
