Monster Max — Play Free Online

Monster Max is a merge-and-survive action game by Puya, the studio that also made Tiny Towers, released on Poki in November 2025. You move a small hero around a forest while a growing band of cute monsters fights for you. Combine two of the same monster and it evolves into a stronger form; keep doing that and you can build up to 7 different monster types while waves of enemies come at you. The goal is simply to make it to the end.

Controls

• Keyboard: WASD, ZQSD (for AZERTY layouts) or the arrow keys
• Mouse: move with the mouse instead of the keys
• Phone or tablet: drag with your finger to steer

The monsters

The game files group the monsters into families, and each family has several evolution stages. The families are named Cat, Devil, Dino, Dolphin, Plant, PopCorn and Slime. A collection screen tracks which ones you have unlocked and shows a progress bar for the whole set.

Waves, worlds and bosses

Play is split into worlds, each made of levels, and each level runs as a series of waves. The game flashes a NEW ENEMIES! banner when a fresh kind of foe shows up, and some waves end with a boss. Clearing a level leads to a chest, and finishing a world moves you on to the next one with tougher enemies. One of the world names in the files is Forest Fest.

Effects and bonuses

Attacks in the game can carry status effects. The code has separate handling for burning, freezing and poisoning enemies, plus explosive hits, piercing shots, shots that split, aimed shots and a laser. Bonus powers include a bomb, a magnet and a speed boost, and some levels have money squares that pay out coins once you activate them.

Cosmetics

Your hero can wear hats, which you unlock along the way, and the game hands out badges as you progress. Coins pay for upgrades in the shop.
