What Slime Journey is

Slime Journey is a puzzle platformer by Nineties Games, first released on Poki in March 2025. It was the studio's first game on that portal, and it plays in a browser on a computer as well as on phones and tablets. The hero is a small blue slime with big eyes. In the game's own artwork a red, spiky creature runs off with a purple slime wearing a crown, and the blue slime sets out after it, level by level, toward a castle on the horizon.

You turn the world, not the slime

The unusual part is the control scheme. You never steer the slime directly. Instead you rotate the platform it sits on, and gravity does the rest: tilt the level one way and the slime slides and bounces in that direction. Each stage is a walled shape, often a box or a twisting corridor, with an exit somewhere inside. Turn it the right amount at the right time and the slime drops through the gaps and reaches the glowing finish.

Controls are short:

• Mouse: press the button and keep it held, and the platform turns.
• Keyboard: the A and D keys turn it too, and so do the two horizontal arrow keys.
• Touch: on a phone or tablet, press and hold on the screen in the same way as with a mouse.

Levels and worlds

Stages are grouped into worlds. When you finish the last stage of a world, a "World Clear" screen appears with the slime wearing a halo and wings, and the next world opens. Poki's listing describes a long run of challenges with obstacles to avoid, puzzles that ask you to flip gravity around, and the chase after your rival running through all of it.

Tips

• Before you touch anything, look at where the exit sits and work backwards to plan the order of tilts.
• Watch for the dangerous obstacles the listing warns about, and turn the level so the slime rolls around them rather than into them.
