Flyordie Io — Play Free Online
More Skill & Arcade games
Flyordie Io is the old name of EvoWorld.io, an online evolution game from the studio Pixel Voices. The page here loads the live EvoWorld.io server, so you share one large side-on map with other players. You spawn as a small fly, eat food to gain experience, and each time the bar fills you evolve into a bigger creature with new food options and a new special skill. The leaderboard ranks players by experience, so staying alive and eating steadily is what pushes you up.
Controls
| Action | Keyboard and mouse |
|---|---|
| Fly left or right | Left/Right arrow or A/D, or steer with the mouse |
| Boost upward | Up arrow or W |
| Use your creature's skill | Space or right-click (hold for skills that last) |
| Open the map | M |
| Chat / emotes | Enter / Tab |
On a phone or tablet the game shows its own buttons for left, right, up and the skill, and asks you to rotate the screen to landscape.
How survival works
The start-up guide sums up the rules in five lines, and they are worth taking literally. Anything outlined in green is food for you. Anything outlined in red can eat you, so keep away. You also have to drink water: a water bar empties over time and has to be topped up, and creatures that dive or swim have an oxygen bar as well. The last two pieces of advice are to use your special skill and to keep evolving.
The food list changes every time you evolve, because each creature has its own diet. A "You eat" panel at the bottom of the screen lists what your current form can eat, which saves a lot of guessing after each evolution.
Creatures and places
The game files list a long evolution tree. Insects such as the butterfly, dragonfly, mosquito, wasp and hornet sit near the start, birds like the pigeon, parrot, falcon, hawk, raven and eagle come later, and the top of the tree reaches creatures such as the pterodactyl, dragon and phoenix. There are also seasonal and spooky forms like the pumpkin ghost and the grim reaper.
The map is split into biomes: arctic, ocean, desert, jungle, swamp, city, graveyard, lava areas, caves and even space and the moon. Some creatures resist lava or space and can go where others cannot. Separate arena and boss areas exist for creatures that are allowed in, and there is a battle royale zone.
Tips
- Check the border colour before you fly towards anything. Red means turn away, even if it looks small.
- Keep an eye on the water bar and plan a route past water before it runs low.
- Save your skill for escapes or for catching prey, and learn what each new form's skill does as soon as you evolve.
- Open the map with M to find a biome that suits your current creature instead of wandering.
- Boost in short taps rather than holding the key, so you keep control of your height when something red comes close.
Questions about Flyordie Io
Is Flyordie Io the same game as EvoWorld.io?
Yes. EvoWorld.io describes itself as the game formerly known as flyordie.io, and this page loads the live EvoWorld.io server made by Pixel Voices.
What are the controls?
Move left and right with the arrow keys, A and D or the mouse, boost up with the Up arrow or W, use your skill with Space or right-click, and open the map with M.
How do I know what I can eat?
Food you can eat has a green border, and creatures that can eat you have a red border. The bottom panel also lists what your current creature eats.
Why does my creature die without being attacked?
You need to drink water. The water bar runs down over time, and diving creatures also have an oxygen bar, so keep both topped up.
