Talking Tom Gold Run is Outfit7's endless runner starring Talking Tom and his friends. A raccoon called Roy Rakoon has made off with Tom's gold, and every run is a chase through traffic to win it back. The game first launched as a mobile app in 2016; the version here is the web edition that Poki carries as an exclusive. Outfit7 is the same company that started the Talking Tom & Friends series with the Talking Tom Cat app in 2010.

Running, jumping and sliding

Your runner moves forward without any input, on a road split into three lanes. You do three things: change lane, hop over low obstacles, and duck under signs and barriers. Gold bars are lined up along the road, and some rows are placed where grabbing them means a risky last-second lane change. Early stretches are gentle, but the obstacles soon bunch up, with a truck in one lane and a barrier in the next, and the pace keeps rising the longer you last. A crash normally ends the run on the spot.

Roy's truck

Every so often Roy appears in a truck ahead of you and starts dropping obstacles and bombs. These stretches play like a small boss fight: you dodge what he throws and knock chili bombs back at the truck. Beating him pays out a large haul of gold bars and diamonds.

Homes, friends and worlds

Gold is spent on homes. Upgrading a home raises the points you earn in runs, and finishing one unlocks the next friend and a new world, so even a short run puts something toward the next unlock. There are six playable characters, each with extra skins bought with gold or diamonds, and eight worlds:

  1. Tom's House (suburban streets, the starting world)
  2. Angela's House (a city with narrower lanes)
  3. Hank's Home (a tropical island)
  4. Ginger's Forest Fun (logs and rocks in the woods)
  5. Ben's Adventure
  6. Tom's Snow Ride (icy obstacles)
  7. Venice Canals (streets beside the water)
  8. China Dragon World (a festival setting)

The friends unlock in this order: Angela, then Hank, Ginger, Ben and finally Becca, Angela's roommate.

Power-ups

  • Magnet draws nearby gold to you.
  • Helmet takes one crash for you and then breaks.
  • Double Bars makes every bar count twice while it lasts.
  • Plane lifts you over everything for a few seconds.

All four have upgrade levels that stretch how long they stay active.

Tips

  • Do not chase every row of gold. A missed bar costs little; a crash costs the whole run.
  • Upgrading the Helmet and the Magnet makes them last longer, which means more protected running and more gold picked up without changing lanes.
  • Treat Roy's truck sections as a reward chance: surviving them and hitting back with chili bombs is how you collect the big piles of gold and diamonds.
  • Finish homes rather than spreading gold thinly; completing one is what opens a new friend and world.
