Fast Typer 2 — Play Free Online

Fast Typer 2 is a short typing test dressed up as a game. A word appears, you type it, and the next one follows straight away while a clock counts down. It comes from Eidosk, the developer behind the whole Fast Typer series, and Poki lists its release as November 2019.

How to play

Type the word shown on screen. You can use your own keyboard or the keyboard drawn inside the game, which is what makes it playable on a phone or tablet as well as a computer. A "GO!" countdown starts each run, and the run ends when the timer reaches zero.

Words get longer as you improve. Every run opens with three-letter words. Clear ten of them in a row and the game moves you up to longer words, and so on from there. Typing quickly and without errors raises your score and also adds time to the clock, so a clean streak keeps the run alive longer.

What you see at the end

When time is up, a results screen sums up the run with three numbers:

• WPM, your words per minute
• Accuracy, how cleanly you typed
• Grade, shown as a letter badge

The grade art in the build runs from D through C, B and A up to A+. From there you can press Restart to try again at once or go back to the home screen.

The word list

The words are ordinary English vocabulary rather than random letters. The list in the game file runs from short everyday words to long ones such as "accommodation" and "accountability", which is why the later part of a good run feels much harder than the opening.

Tips

• Do not trade accuracy for speed. Bonus time is earned by typing correctly, and moving up to longer words needs ten correct in a row.
• On a touch screen, type on the keyboard drawn inside the game.

Fast Typer 2 sits between the first Fast Typer and Fast Typer 3, which Eidosk also made.
