Survival Island — Play Free Online

Survival Island is a crafting and survival game by Panda Pasha Games, released on Poki in September 2024. It opens with a short monologue: your ship has broken up on the rocks in a storm, you seem to be the only survivor, and there is wreckage on the beach worth searching. A house stands in the distance, and that is where the story really starts.

The opening hours

Inside the house you find a letter on the table from a previous castaway who signs himself Harry. He leaves you the house, points you to a chest holding a set of starter tools, and warns you not to go down into the mines unarmed. From there a tutorial quest line walks you through the basic loop: collect some resources, make a fishing rod, catch a fish, then build a campfire and grill it.

The long-term goal is to leave the island for good. Two main quests ask you to repair the ship and then equip it, and both are fed by dropping large amounts of materials into a box beside the wreck.

Controls

• Walk with WASD or the arrow keys.
• Hold E, or click, to chop, mine, fish or use whatever is in front of you.
• Pick the active tool with the number keys or by clicking it in the tool bar.

The game also runs on phones and tablets, where an on-screen button takes the place of the action key.

Resources, tools and buildings

Raw materials include wood, stone, fibers, coconuts, fish, crab meat, iron and diamonds. Tools come in three tiers: a basic axe, pickaxe and sword, then iron versions, then diamond versions. There is also a machete, a shovel, a torch and a fishing rod, plus a Cursed Sword with its own name in the item list.

Several recipes can only be made next to a particular station, so the order you build things in matters:

Mill, kitchen, oven	Flour, then dough, then bread

Farming has its own chain. You till the ground with the shovel before planting wheat seeds, grind the wheat into flour at the mill, mix dough in the kitchen and bake bread in the oven. A bucket can be filled at a fresh water source.

Energy, nights and the house

Your character runs on energy, and if it runs out the game tells you that you have none left. A bed lets you sleep through to the next morning. The house can be furnished with tables, sofas, armchairs, large beds and a bathtub, and you can change wallpaper and floors. Catching pink, white or green fireflies lets you make matching lamps. Building a second room matters for the story: another survivor called Barbara, found on a neighbouring island, agrees to move in once it is ready.

Tips from how the game works

• Make a torch before exploring dark places; the game tells you there is nothing to do there without one.
• Carry a sword into the mines, as Harry's letter advises.
• Reaching the neighbouring island takes a raft, which is one of the things you can build.
