About the game

Escape From Spider is an online horror escape game by emolingo games, the studio behind Escape From School and Rainbow Obby. It launched on Poki in April 2025 and is built with the PlayCanvas 3D engine. You and the other people in your room are trapped in a map patrolled by a huge spider, and the only way out is to finish a chain of jobs, such as fetching keys, placing parts and powering machines, without getting grabbed. You can join the default public room, create a private room and share its link with friends, or start a singleplayer game.

Controls

• Move with W, A, S, D or the arrow keys.
• Use the mouse for menus and buttons, and to look around once the pointer is locked to the game.
• Press Enter to open the emote panel and Escape to pause.
• On a phone or tablet, the left half of the screen acts as a touch joystick and buttons handle actions.

If you choose to become the spider yourself, the left mouse button attacks and the right mouse button lays sticky webs, which run out and recharge after a short wait.

Chapters and tasks

The game is split into three chapters, and each one unlocks only after you clear the previous one. The tasks are different in every chapter, and the game prints short hints as you go:

• Coloured items unlock matching doors. A blue key opens a blue lock, and a basement door opens later in the route.
• Fusion cells in blue, green and yellow have to be slotted in before you can leave the house.
• Broken things need fixing: a ladder, a glider rebuilt from its wing, seat, engine, propeller and base, and coloured transformer cables that carry power.
• In the second chapter, powering a generator sends you to an elevator. In the third, the hunter is a Wendigo, and you refill fuel cans at a tanker, read a codebook to crack a password and bring a radio tower back online.

Getting caught does not always end your run. A caught player can be locked in a prison cell and has to break out, and a pair of scissors lets you cut yourself free from a web. Watch the floor too, because bear traps and similar hazards can stop you in your tracks.

Coins, powerups and skins

You earn coins while playing. The shop sells powerups including Speed Boots, Potion, Scissors, Bear Trap, Ice Cube, Fart Bomb, Flare Gun and Cage Spawner, and some of them can be used against the spider or to slow other players down. Coins also unlock cosmetics: hats such as the Viking, Astronaut, Bear and Cat hats, hair styles, faces like Side Eye, and full skins.

A separate Catch scene turns things around: one player becomes Tung Tung Sahur and has to tag everyone else.

Tips

• Read the hint text. It tells you exactly which piece is still missing and when every part is in place.
• Keep scissors in your inventory if you can afford them; they are the fastest way out of a web.
• Split the jobs in a full room. One player carrying fusion cells while another hunts for keys gets everyone out sooner.
• Your inventory has a slot limit, so drop or use items you no longer need before picking up a quest part.
