About Escape From School

Escape From School is a 3D escape game by emolingo games, the studio that also made Sword Masters and Rainbow Obby. It came to Poki in May 2024. The setup is simple: classes are over, you have been kept back in detention, and the only way to enjoy the rest of the day is to sneak out past the principal. You crawl through vents with traps in them, cross classrooms and corridors, and solve small item puzzles to open the way forward.

Controls

• Walk: the arrow keys or W, A, S and D.
• Jump: the spacebar.
• Use or pick up: press E next to an item.
• Camera: the mouse turns the view; zoom all the way in and the game switches to a first-person view.

On a phone or tablet the game shows touch joysticks and on-screen buttons instead. The menu also has a mouse sensitivity setting, a respawn button for when you get stuck, and a chapter button for jumping between parts of the story.

Chapters and goals

The main story is split into three chapters, and each one gives you a short list of objectives shown on screen:

• Chapter 1 – School: objectives include collecting clothes (the counter starts at 0/5) and finding a valve.
• Chapter 2 – City: you find three shapes, get hold of a hammer and hit five targets to open a cage. A hint in this chapter tells you to follow the cables.
• Chapter 3 – Prison: you gather three explosive items and track down all the pipes. Finishing it shows a message that you are free at last, followed by a teasing "until..".

The start menu asks you to pick an escape destination. Besides the school, it lists Dentist and Grandma options.

Items, power-ups and outfits

Chocolate bars are scattered along the route; collect them and spend them on new outfits. The skin files in the build include a bunny, a clown, a cowboy and a businessman look. Power-ups sit around the levels for the moments when a section gets hard, and the build names several, among them a balloon, a hook, milk, a hat and a totem. There is a Market screen for buying and equipping these extras.

You can also create a private room and share its room ID, so a friend can join you by typing it in.

Tips

• Read the objective list each time a new area opens; every chapter tells you exactly what to look for.
• In the city chapter, trace the cables, as the in-game hint suggests.
• Pick up chocolate bars even when you are not shopping yet; outfits are bought with them later.
• When a section keeps beating you, look around for a power-up before trying it again.
