Fishing League — Play Free Online

Fishing League is an online fishing game from OnRush Studio, the team behind Venge.io and Tribals.io. It went live on Poki in April 2025 and runs in 3D on the PlayCanvas engine. You walk your angler around a small seaside map, stand at a fishing point, catch fish, carry them back to sell, and spend the money on better gear. Other players share the map with you, and there is a leaderboard showing who has done best.

How to play

• Walk: WASD or the arrow keys.
• Cast and reel: left click or the space bar.
• Phones and tablets: tap to fish; the game supports touch.

Go to a marked fishing spot and start fishing. When a fish bites, the screen tells you to tap rapidly, and fast clicks or taps pull it in. If your rod is too weak for the spot you will get a "not strong enough" message, which is the game's way of saying you need an upgrade first. There is a settings option to fish by holding the space bar down instead of tapping it.

The loop: catch, sell, upgrade

Every fish goes into your backpack. When the backpack is full you cannot catch more, so you walk back and sell, either fish by fish or all at once. Money goes into a few places:

• Rods: you start with the Wooden Rod. The rod shop moves up through metal and titanium rods to named ones such as Rusty Reel, Moonlite Line, Rodweave, Aqua Spear and Kraken's Reach. Some rods need you to reach World 2 before they unlock.
• Backpack and chest: upgrades raise how many fish you carry and how much the storage chest holds.
• Cosmetics: outfits like the Viking, the Wizard, the Boxer and the Football Guy, glasses, a shoe shop with random shoes, and emotes and dances.

Short ads can give timed boosts, for example double money from sales or double backpack slots for two minutes.

Fish, worlds and rarity

The catch list is long and uses real species: clownfish, blue tang, moorish idol, angelfish of many kinds, seahorses, lobsters, tuna, rays, sea turtles, dolphins and several sharks, from the nurse shark to the great white. Fish come in rarity tiers that include common, uncommon, epic, galactic and obsidian, and a gold Tralalero Tralala sits among the rare prizes. Better rods reach better tiers. There are two worlds; the second opens once you have progressed far enough in the first.

Other modes

Beyond fishing, the menu has quests, a rebirth option, and PvP matches that award diamonds. You can also create a private room and share a link so friends join you on the same map.

Tips

• Upgrade the backpack early. More slots mean fewer trips back to the seller.
• Do not stay at a spot your rod cannot handle; move to one where you can catch steadily and earn the next rod.
• Save rarer fish for when a double-sale boost is active.
• Play PvP when you need diamonds, since some items cost them instead of coins.
