About Penalty Shooters X

Penalty Shooters X is a penalty shootout game from the studio 10x10 Games, released on Poki in June 2024 for computers, phones and tablets. Every match is a shootout. You alternate between taking the kick and standing in goal, and the side that scores more wins. Club names, kits and colours in the game are invented, and a notice in the credits says that any resemblance to real teams is coincidental.

How to shoot

1. Pick a power-up if you want one. This step is optional.
2. Watch the shot strength indicator.
3. Press anywhere on the screen and hold to aim.
4. Let go to kick.

Vary your shots from one kick to the next: an in-game tip tells you to change the way you shoot because the goalkeeper is smart.

How to save

When the opponent shoots, wait for a target to appear on the goal, then click or tap that target to dive for it. The in-game tip for keepers is worth remembering: if the opponent hits a slow shot, tap a little later.

Modes

• Tier Challenge: a ladder of six tiers, each played in its own ground, starting at Training Ground Arena and moving through Talent Showcase Ground, Rising Talent Stadium, Skill Showdown Ground and Skillmaster Arena to Epic Thunderdome Stadium. Each match costs an entry fee in coins, and a win pays back double the fee. Wins also earn trophies and losses take some away; you need enough trophies to unlock the next tier.
• World Cup: unlocks after you have played some Tier Challenge matches. You pick a national side such as Brazil, Germany, Argentina, Italy, France, England or Spain and play through to the final. There is no entry fee, and results do not change your trophy count.

Coins, gems and power-ups

Coins pay Tier Challenge entry fees. Gems are the second currency: you earn them from achievements and spend them on power-ups or on replaying a match you lost. The power-up store sells six of them:

Power-up	Effect
Slippery Surface	The opposing shooter misses the ball completely.
Sluggish Reaction	The opposing keeper reacts a little more slowly.
Mind Reader	Your keeper sees where the shot is going earlier.
Goalie Freeze	The opposing keeper does not move at all.
Phantom Wall	A wall covers part of your goal.
Precision Boost	Better aim, with no change to shot power.

Achievements such as Goal Getter, Safe Hands, Flawless Victory and Iron Wall reward milestones, and you can rename your team and edit its colours from the menu.
