Rooftop Snipers 2 — Play Free Online

Rooftop Snipers 2 is the sequel to Rooftop Snipers from New Eich Games, the US studio that also made House of Hazards, Getaway Shootout and Tube Jumpers. It came out in August 2019 and was last updated in June 2022. The idea is simple: two wobbly fighters stand on a rooftop, and you win a point by shooting the other one hard enough to knock them off the edge. You can play against the computer or against a friend on the same keyboard.

That is the whole control scheme, and it is what makes the game funny. You cannot aim directly. On Poki the game is listed for desktop only.

Weapons, maps and characters

Before a match you can set the arena, the weapon and the difficulty. The game files include a classic sniper rifle along with less usual choices: a spear, a crossbow, a rocket launcher and a tomahawk, plus a random option that changes the weapon each time. Arenas include the rooftop and a suburban house setting with a hot dog stand, a fire hydrant and lawn chairs, and some rounds add rain or objects falling from above.

New characters unlock as you build up points, and each one has a category and a rarity. A customization screen lets you change your fighter's look and save a favourite set, and an announcer calls out points and match point.

How a match plays out

Each point starts with both fighters at opposite ends of the arena. The first to fall loses the point, the camera swings to the winner, and the next round begins. Matches go on until one player reaches the target score, and the game marks the deciding round as match point. Against the computer you pick how strong the opponent is.

Tips

• Do not shoot the moment a round starts. Watch your arm swing once and fire when it passes level with the opponent.
• A jump just before you fire raises the gun and also moves you away from your own recoil.
• Stay near the middle of the roof. Recoil and enemy hits both push you backward, and the edge comes up fast.
• In two-player games, sit so each player has their keys close: W and E on the left, I and O on the right.
