Cubies — Play Free Online

Cubies is a 3D puzzle platformer by Venturous, the studio that also made Gobdun, and it went live on Poki in June 2023. You control a small cube whose job in every level is to round up the tiny cubies scattered around the stage and then reach the finish flag. There is also a head-to-head mode for two people on one device, which is why it sits in our 2-player section.

Controls

Move with W, A, S, D or the arrow keys. Movement is the only input the main levels need. The game is also playable on phones and tablets.

What the levels throw at you

Levels are grouped into worlds, and each one adds a new kind of obstacle. Among the parts named in the game data:

• Elevators that carry you up or down
• Invisible paths that only show themselves once you touch them
• Disappearing and breakable blocks that give way after you step on them
• Conveyors and moving platforms
• Teleporters, both short-range and long-range
• Tiles that are deadly to touch, or deadly to land on

When you finish, the results screen shows how many cubies you collected, your best time for the level and a PERFECT stamp. If you are stuck, the game can show a guide for the level after a short ad.

The 1v1 mode

The versus mode is a different game on its own maps. Two players share the arena and try to claim more of the floor than the other, with every tile you cross painted in your color. It is local only: both players sit at the same keyboard or device. There is a separate co-op button on the level screen as well.

Skins

Your cube can wear a costume. Some unlock as you progress, in an order that starts with Frog, Dino and Cat and goes on through Ninja, Robot, Fish, Goblin, Monkey, Skull, Bird and Bunny. Others, such as Dog, Hippo, Seagull, Slime, Worm and Zombie, are offered as rewards for watching an ad.

Camera

The game also has a zoom control and a Z TILT toggle that changes the camera angle.
