Stick Fighter — Play Free Online

Stick Fighter is a one-on-one fighting game from Entrevero Games, the studio that also made Bearsus and Dungeons & Dress-Ups. It launched on Poki in November 2022. Two stick figures fight in rounds until one of them takes the match. What makes it unusual is the control scheme: the whole game is played with just two keys.

Controls

Everything runs through A and D, or the left and right arrow keys, which do the same job. A single press moves and jumps. The attacks come from double taps and combinations:

On a phone or tablet the game shows its own touch tutorial, with on-screen areas to tap in place of the keys.

The fighters

The roster has six characters, and each one has a completely different set of moves, so the same inputs do different things depending on who you pick:

• Sticky Steve
• Jack Chumbo, the gunman
• Scarmichael, the swordsman
• Mike Sopapo, the boxer
• Asphalta, the street fighter
• Samuel Ray, the samurai

Not everyone is open at the start. New fighters and new colours unlock as you progress, and the game announces each one with a NEW FIGHTER UNLOCKED or NEW COLOR UNLOCKED banner.

Modes

• Arcade – the single-player run. You take on the other characters one after another to prove you are the best Stick Fighter.
• Endless – a running series of battles. The game keeps a best record for your current fighter and an overall best.
• Rush – a single-player ladder of stages.
• Versus – a one-on-one match against a friend.

More modes open as you play, shown by a NEW GAME MODE UNLOCKED message. Tiebreakers are announced with a DOWN TO THE WIRE banner.

Coins and rewards

Fights pay out coins, and clearing something for the first time adds a first clear bonus. After a fight the game may offer to double your coins if you watch an ad, and after a loss it can offer a retry the same way. Both are optional.

Tips

• Learn one fighter's moves before switching. Because every character has a different move set, the same double tap does something different for each of them.
• Endless mode keeps a separate best for each fighter, which makes it a good place to practise a new character.
