Blumgi Castle — Play Free Online

Blumgi Castle is a physics shooting game by Blumgi, a studio based in France whose other Poki games include Blumgi Ball and Blumgi Rocket. It came out in August 2022. Each level is a structure of blocks surrounded by water, with monsters standing on it. You lob bombs at them, and a level is cleared once every creature is gone, either blown away or dropped into the sea after you destroy the ground under its feet.

Controls

Aiming and power are separate. An indicator circles your character to show the direction; holding the fire button charges the throw, and letting go launches it.

It is also playable on phones and tablets, where the game shows its own on-screen controls.

Special weapons

Standard bombs are only the start. A weapon bar at the top of the screen holds special options: bigger explosions, a buzzsaw, dynamite, a laser beam, a magnet, a multi-bomb, and the teleporting basketball borrowed from Blumgi Ball. Levels do not have one fixed solution, so the same stage can be cleared with different weapons.

Levels, stars and characters

Levels are grouped into worlds and each one is rated with up to three stars. Your supply of bombs is limited, and the level is lost if you run out while monsters are still standing. Some monsters fight back, and bats and a vampire appear among the enemies. Every few levels a new character unlocks, and there are skins for both characters and weapons. There is also a chest room with rewards.

Pro and versus modes

Besides the main levels, the menu offers a Pro mode, labeled as being for skilled players only, and a player-versus-player mode on its own set of levels, where two people share the keyboard and the game announces which player won.

Tips

• Look at what a monster is standing on. Destroying the floor beneath it drops it into the water without a direct hit.
• Count your remaining bombs before you start, because running out ends the attempt.
• Try the special weapons on levels that resist normal bombs.
